SHORT DESCRIPTION: ERCOT Board approval for Real-Time Market (RTM) price correction for Operating Day (OD) October 22, 2023

LONG DESCRIPTION: On October 22, 2023, RTM prices were impacted by an issue with the Market Management System (MMS) in which Security-Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED) was not able to accept Three-Part Supply Offers (TPOs), specifically Energy Offer Curves and Real-Time Energy Bids. See Market Notice M-B102423-01.

Upon completion of the impact analysis, ERCOT determined that the pricing event met the criteria in ERCOT Protocol Section 6.3(4) and (7) for seeking ERCOT Board of Directors (Board) approval for price correction and that it would present its findings to the Board for review. See Market Notice M-B102423-02.

On December 19, 2023, the Board reviewed the proposed price corrections and determined that these prices were significantly affected by SCED not being able to accept TPOs and directed ERCOT to implement the appropriate price corrections pursuant to ERCOT Protocol Section 6.3(7). See Board of Directors Meeting (December 19, 2023), Agenda Item 14.4.

Board approval of these price corrections necessitate the issuance of RTM Resettlement Statements. A Market Notice will be posted for the RTM resettlement in accordance with ERCOT Protocol Section 9.5.7.
