Hi Everyone,
As more results of analysis reveal, such as the ERCOT analysis presented at WMS, COG's 4CP Allocation proposal is the closest CARD allocation to the current allocation and does not distort energy prices for Loads at all - whereas the other proposals may distort energy prices as high as $40/MWh (ERCOT was requested to provide analysis on

I'd like to set some expectations for the WMWG conversation on Tuesday. We will only focus on gathering a list of analysis requests for ERCOT and the IMM to conduct and will not be going through any presentations. It will be more efficient to present your information after ERCOT/IMM have had the time to conduct and present

Hi WMWG,
I wanted to update the group on the status of a discussion topic. The 8/30 WMWG discussion on the CARD allocation issue<https://www.ercot.com/files/docs/2024/08/06/04-04-card-reallocation-wms.pptx> will be taken up at the 9/24 WMWG instead. ERCOT has informed me that the IMM is working through some additional analysis to bring to the group that will not be ready by next week.
Hi Blake, for next meeting agenda, just one item, a continuation of discussion on VCMRR041, SO2 and NOx Emission Prices Used in Verifiable Cost Calculations
Once you have the agenda, I can post a power point.

On August, 14 2023 at 9:30 AM, the Wholesale Market Working Group (WMWG) and the Resource Cost Working Group (RCWG) will host a joint workshop on Reliability Unit Commitments (RUC) and Verifiable Costs (VCs<https://www.ercot.com/calendar/08142023-RCWG-_-WMWG-Joint>).
The workshop is intended to raise awareness of how RUC and VC rules are impacting the ERCOT market and Resource owners, provide a forum for discussing concerns that have been raised regarding the use of RUC and gaps that may exist in the existing VC process, and provide attendees with an opportunity to align on potential paths forward

I have an additional question in regards to the reports Jessica is referring to below. Will the June 2023 wind/solar power forecast monthly reports be posted or already are posted somewhere?
I do not see the June reports on any of the meeting page links.
The discussion on findings from the RRS-PFR Limits Study will now be held in the afternoon of April 6. Please refer to the Market Notice below for additional details on this workshop.
Please feel free to reach out should you have any questions on this topic.

You are correct that the calculation labeled "On-Line Generation Resources with Energy Offer Curves including Quick Start Generation Resources" under the "Non-Spin Reserve Capacity" heading includes Non-Spin Schedules from units with an online telemetered resource status and with an energy offer curve. Since online non-spin is already considered deployed their schedule is zero. Please note that there is a similar label under the heading "Non-Spin Reserve Responsibility". We will be taking up the SOM recommendations in this order: Remove RUC opt-out Modifications to RDPA Include shadow price of AS constraints in clearing prices Mitigated offer changes
Change transmission cost allocation
We will also be reviewing the dollar values in NPRR1024.
WMWG participants, Have you noticed this resource naming issue with the RRS Limit files that ERCOT publishes as part of the NPRR960 implementation? We are not sure why the unit code isn't used as published in the SARA and other reports.
Issue: We ran into an issue when working on importing the data published by ERCOT for the RRS limits. The Resource names are not following a naming convention that is consistent with how ERCOT normally publishes. As an example BRAUNIG_VHB1 is BRAUNIG.VHB1 in ERCOT's report whereas LEON_CRK_LCPCT1 is LEON_CRK.LCPCT1.

WMWG Members,
As a follow up to the discussion about ERCOT Outage Capacity Reports at the July 22nd WMWG meeting, we found that beginning on 1/1/2019 two different Resources totaling 840 MW that are currently Mothballed were being incorrectly included in the outaged capacity in the TotalResourceMW field in the Hourly Resource Outage Capacity report (link<https://mis.ercot.com/misapp/GetReports.do?reportTypeId=13103&mimic_duns=183529049>). These Resources were removed from the report this morning.

ERCOT received a request to update the estimates of AS quantities for 2019 under NPRR 863 framework, previous estimates went only through October of 2019. The estimated AS quantities have been posted under the February 25th WMWG meeting page.
WMWG, Attached is a draft version of comments on NPRR912 for discussion on Friday. Numerous parties were consulted in the construction of the language in an attempt to reach a compromise.

I apologize for the short lead time, but I plan to bring up these comments in "other business" for discussion. ERCOT has asked for urgency, and we would like to give stakeholders the most opportunity possible to discuss.

All,
As promised at the last QMWG meeting, ERCOT has prepared Draft MRA Offer Sheets for your review. As always, ERCOT welcomes comments from Market Participants on the best way to capture data needed to process an MRA and will consider suggested changes as part of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process. We look forward to discussing any suggestions at the next WMWG meeting.

Bryan,
As chair of WMWG, will you coordinate with ERCOT to have monthly reports on RUCs and what we saw for price formation in both DAM and RT? I think the presentation below highlights that RUC was a major aspect of the market in the second half of 2021 and WMWG should be looking to ensure that pricing reflects the "risk" ERCOT is seeking to mitigate.
Attached are my redline comments on Item 91 on behalf of Hunt Energy Network for discussion at PDCWG tomorrow. Please share this with PDCWG email list (copying me if possible) since I cannot post there. These comments are still being worked on and I’m waiting on some possible feedback from ERCOT as well – so I’d appreciate any feedback from PDCWG and WMWG members and may update the document based on feedback received.
All, We have decided to cancel the April WMWG meeting.
For May, we will follow the lead of WMS and see if any priority items get assigned to WMWG.

Good morning, Concerning this item: Allow FFR Procurement up to FFR Limit Without Proration
Can ERCOT bring some information to WMWG that may help with the problem solving?
* How many resources have qualified for FFR? * How many ESR's have not qualified? * Qualified for FFRS but not FFR? * What is the level of participation this year? * Compared to participation in RRS * Review of the FFR qualification criteria * Any other relevant information that would help the discussion.

Good morning, This is a good presentation on the charges and payments to the ESR's. I'd like to ask a question now that can be addressed during the meeting Friday.
[cid:image003.jpg@01D8F98A.9E741380]
On slide 17 for example, when the ESR-CLR is being charged for charging on the left half of the graph, is the ESR-GEN getting paid for the headroom? It appears the note says this is the case.
Thank you, David. We plan to speak to that on this slide and will consider updating the slides for the meeting.
To your specific questions, I think it's a mischaracterization to say that the ESR is getting paid to charge. The reason the ESR is getting paid the adder for its headroom, including the injection side, is because that headroom is providing real-time reserves and those reserves have value. This same logic applies to a generator that is not dispatched to its full capacity and has headroom available. I don't think we would frame it as the generator being paid
Thanks for putting the language together! I have a few suggestions.
* Is there a need to limit the update to only resources that have existing valid Energy Offer Curves? I don’t believe there is any simplification in validation that can be achieved by having this limitation. * If I am not mistaken, putting the words ‘less than five (5) minutes before and’ would imply that the EOC should be submitted between 5 mins and 1 min before each of the SCED intervals you want it to be effective. If that is not the intend then should “in

Hello WMWG participants, The PDCWG meeting is this Friday. The ancillary service topics from the Emergency Issues List are on the agenda and the PDCWG would like us to participate.
Please plan to help make this a productive discussion. We can follow up at next week's WMWG meeting for the market issues on these topics.
