LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT received a supplement, Part III, to the March 29, 2016 Notification of Suspension of Operations (NSO) for the following Generation Resource:

  *   NRG Texas Power LLC - GBY_GBY_5
The NSO indicates that the Resource will be mothballed indefinitely beginning June 27, 2016.  Part III of the NSO is posted under the Notice of Suspension of Operations portlet on the Grid/Generation<https://mis.ercot.com/pps/tibco/mis/Pages/Grid+Information/Generation> page of the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS) Secure Area.  An ERCOT Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS.

SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Initial determination of RMR status for Greens Bayou Unit 5
INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED:  June 27, 2016
LONG DESCRIPTION:  On March 29, 2016, ERCOT received a Notification of Suspension of Operations (NSO) for the following Generation Resource:

  *   NRG Texas Power LLC - GBY_GBY_5
The proposed effective date for the suspension of GBY_GBY_5 is June 27, 2016.
Pursuant to requirements under paragraph (3) of ERCOT Protocol Section 3.14.1.2, Initial Determination, ERCOT is issuing an initial determination that this Generation Resource may be needed for Reliability Must-Run (RMR) Service.
ERCOT will continue to review the impacts of this NSO on transmission system reliability, in coordination with the impacted transmission owners, in an effort to develop alternative solutions. Following that continued review, and taking into account alternative solutions that may be developed, ERCOT will issue its final determination of whether the Generation Resource is required to provide voltage support, stability or management of localized transmission constraints under applicable reliability criteria by May 28, 2016.
