SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Initial and Final determination for CITY OF GARLAND (RE) - Spencer (SPNCE_4) and Spencer (SPNCE_5)

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  January 3, 2018

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On October 4, 2017, ERCOT received Notifications of Suspension of Operations (NSOs) for the following Generation Resources:

*       CITY OF GARLAND (RE) - Spencer (SPNCE_4) and Spencer (SPNCE_5)

The proposed effective date for the suspension of CITY OF GARLAND (RE) - Spencer (SPNCE_4) and Spencer (SPNCE_5) is January 3, 2018.

Pursuant to requirements under ERCOT Protocols Section 3.14.1.2 (3), ERCOT is issuing an initial determination that these Generation Resources are not required to support ERCOT transmission system reliability. Pursuant to Section 3.14.1.2 (5), this Notice will also serve as the final determination, and the Resources may be mothballed indefinitely according to the schedules in the NSOs.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  ERCOT has posted the analysis performed to arrive at its determination on the Generation page<https://mis.ercot.com/pps/tibco/mis/Pages/Grid+Information/Generation> of the Market Information System (MIS) Secure Area.  An ERCOT Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS.
