SHORT DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT solicits comments on draft Governing Document for Fast-Responding Regulation Service Pilot Project
INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED:  September 4, 2012
LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT Staff intends to seek Board approval of a pilot project to study the operational benefits of an Ancillary Service with a response time of 60 cycles or less (currently referred to as "Fast-Responding Regulation Service" ("FRRS")). The administration of the pilot project will proceed according to the attached Governing Document for Fast-Responding Regulation Service Pilot Project ("Governing Document"), which is currently in draft form. ERCOT has already reviewed and responded to a number of comments received after presenting the FRRS pilot concept to various stakeholder groups. To ensure that this Governing Document addresses any remaining concerns, ERCOT requests that interested Market Participants review this draft and provide ERCOT with any comments, substantive or otherwise. ERCOT will present this proposal to the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) at its meeting on September 7, 2012.
ACTION REQUIRED:  All comments on the draft should be submitted to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> by noon on September 4, 2012.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  ERCOT intends to post all comments to the ERCOT pilot projects webpage (http://www.ercot.com/mktrules/pilots/) by September 4, 2012. ERCOT intends to discuss these comments at the TAC meeting on September 7, 2012, and will post an updated version of the Governing Document (if necessary) prior to this meeting.
