SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Initial and Final determination of RMR status for AES Deepwater, Inc. (RE), APD_APD_G1

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  October 5, 2012

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On July 6, 2012, ERCOT received Notification of Suspension of Operations (NSO) for the following Generation Resource with a proposed effective date of October 5, 2012:

*       AES Deepwater, Inc. (RE) - APD_APD_G1

ERCOT has completed its review and is issuing its initial determination that this Resource does not qualify for Reliability Must Run status as defined in Protocol Section 3.14.1(1) which requires that resources being suspended be evaluated for their need to support ERCOT System reliability (for voltage support, stability or management of localized transmission constraints under first contingency criteria).  Pursuant to Section 3.14.1.2(5), this Notice will also serve as the final determination, and the Resource may be mothballed according to the schedule in the NSO.

ACTION REQUIRED:  ERCOT has posted the analysis performed to arrive at its determination on the Market Information System (MIS) Secure Area on the Grid/Generation page under Reliability Must Run at https://mis.ercot.com/pps/tibco/mis/Pages/Grid+Information/Generation. An ERCOT digital certificate is required to access the MIS.
