SHORT DESCRIPTION:  End of Nodal Implementation Surcharge

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  January 13, 2013

LONG DESCRIPTION:  Since October 1, 2006, ERCOT has been assessing a Nodal Implementation Surcharge (NIS), most recently $0.375 per megawatt-hour of generation, to fund implementation of the nodal market. ERCOT achieved full recovery of these costs with the Initial Settlement of Operating Day January 1, 2013. The NIS will be discontinued with the Settlement of Operating Day January 2, 2013.  Any overage collected will be distributed within 30 days after the posting of the True-Up Settlement for Operating Day January 1, 2013.
