NOTICE TYPE:  General
SHORT DESCRIPTION:  QSEs representing Resources to begin submitting binding COPs on November 24, 2010, for Operating Days December 1, 2010, and beyond
INTENDED AUDIENCE:  QSEs with Resources
DAY AFFECTED:  November 24, 2010
LONG DESCRIPTION:  In accordance with the Nodal Protocol Transition Plan (http://nodal.ercot.com/about/po/sch/index.html), Nodal Protocol Section 3.9, Current Operating Plan (COP), will become effective on November 24, 2010, in preparation for Nodal Go-Live cutover on December 1, 2010.
Nodal Protocol Section 3.9.1(1), Current Operating Plan (COP) Criteria, requires that each Qualified Scheduling Entity (QSE) that represents a Resource must submit a COP to ERCOT that reflects expected operating conditions for each Resource for each hour in the next seven Operating Days.
In preparation for Nodal Go-Live on December 1, 2010, QSEs with Resources will be required to submit seven days of rolling COPs beginning November 24, 2010, for Operating Days December 1, 2010, and beyond. To clarify, on November 24 only Operating Day December 1 is binding per protocols, however the other six days are required to effectively support the nodal cutover activities.
