SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Implementation Details of NPRR515
INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED:  June 20, 2016
LONG DESCRIPTION:  On June 20, 2016, Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 515, Day-Ahead Market Self-Commitment of Generation Resources, will be implemented.  NPRR515 was approved by the ERCOT Board on July 16, 2013.

Implementation of NPRR515 enhances the current Day-Ahead Market (DAM) self-commitment logic which is restricted to a daily decision (self-committed or not for the entire set of hours for that day) to a mechanism for self-committing Generation Resources on an hourly basis, and makes a minor clarification to the description of the timing of the Simultaneous Feasibility Test (SFT) process.



NPRR761, As-Built Clarification to NPRR515, Day-Ahead Market Self-Commitment of Generation Resources, clarifies the Settlement of hourly self-committed intervals that are introduced in NPRR515. This NPRR clarifies that a Resource will not be eligible for Day-Ahead Make-Whole Payment Startup Cost compensation when the DAM considers the Resource as having no cost to startup.  There are no system changes required for NPRR761.  The ERCOT Board will consider NPRR761 on June 14, 2016.  If approved, NPRR761 will also be effective on June 20, 2016.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Pursuant to Nodal Protocol Section 21.6, Nodal Protocol Revision Implementation, ERCOT is required to provide notice as soon as practicable, but no later than ten days prior to implementation.
