SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Implementation Details of VCMRR022

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  May 1, 2019

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On May 1, 2019, Verifiable Cost Manual language related to Verifiable Cost Manual Revision Request (VCMRR) 022, Determination of Fuel Adder Price for Coal and Lignite Resources, will be implemented.

VCMRR022 directs ERCOT to calculate a coal-fired and lignite-fired quarterly fuel adder for Resources with approved verifiable costs. ERCOT will contract with Argus Media for the publication Argus Coal Transportation, published every Tuesday.  The price index for the week can be found under key prices labeled "Delivered coal price comparison", to ERCOT, in $/mmBtu.  For calculation purposes, a week starts on Tuesday through the following Monday.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Pursuant to the Verifiable Cost Manual Section 13.6, Verifiable Cost Manual Revision Implementation, ERCOT is required to provide notice as soon as practicable, but no later than ten days prior to implementation.
