SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Effective Date of NOGRR174

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  September 1, 2018

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On August 7, 2018, the ERCOT Board approved Nodal Operating Guide Revision Request (NOGRR174), AVR and PSS Testing Requirements, which aligns the ERCOT Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) and Power System Stabilizer (PSS) testing requirements with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Standard MOD-026-1, Verification of Models and Data for Generator Excitation Control System or Plant Volt/Var Control Functions.

NOGRR174 was approved with the following effective dates.

********* Upon system implementation:  Paragraphs (2)(a), (4), and (5) of Section 2.2.5, Automatic Voltage Regulators; and paragraph (7)(a) of Section 2.2.6, Power System Stabilizers

********* September 1, 2018:  All remaining paragraphs

After further review, paragraph (8) of Section 2.2.6 is also dependent upon system implementation and will not be effective on September 1, 2018 as previously approved.  A Market Notice will be issued prior to the implementation of the remainder of NOGRR174.
