SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Implementation Details of NPRR747 and NOGRR150

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  January 1, 2017

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On January 1, 2017, Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 747, Revision of Voltage Control Requirements, and Nodal Operating Guide Revision Request (NOGRR) 150, Alignment with NPRR747, Revision of Voltage Control Requirements, will be implemented.

NPRR747 creates new definitions related to Voltage Profiles, defines various Entities' responsibilities related to Voltage Support, and also clarifies that the interconnecting Transmission Service Provider (TSP) (or its designated agent) may modify a Generation Resource's Voltage Set Point.

NOGRR150 adds language concerning voltage support obligations, allocates each of various voltage support responsibilities to the appropriate Entity, clarifies that the ERCOT Transmission Operator (TO) has the authority to instruct a Qualified Scheduling Entity (QSE) to modify its Generation Resource's Voltage Set Point, and synchronizes Operating Guide language with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Reliability Standards.
