NOTICE DATE: September 8, 2017

NOTICE TYPE: M-A071917-03 CRR

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Documentation posted for CRR MUI upgrade

INTENDED AUDIENCE: CRR Account Holders and Counter-Parties

DAYS AFFECTED: September 18 - December 8, 2017, and January 22, 2018

LONG DESCRIPTION: The Congestion Revenue Right (CRR) Market User Interface (MUI) will be upgraded on January 22, 2018, to be compatible with the latest web browsers and to remove Java applets and the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) requirement.

Prior to the implementation of the upgraded MUI, ERCOT will conduct a requalification of all registered CRR Account Holders and their Counter-Parties to ensure that they can use the new MUI to perform auction activities. The requalification will be very similar to the current qualification test for new CRR Account Holders, and passing the requalification test will be required to participate in any CRR auctions taking place after the upgrade is implemented. The requalification period is scheduled for September 18 - December 8, 2017.

The requalification test will be performed in the Market Operations Test Environment (MOTE), which will require each CRR Account Holder and their Counter-Party to have an active MOTE digital certificate. An active digital certificate for the current MOTE CRR application will also be valid for the new MUI in MOTE.

The following supporting documentation for the upgrade has been posted on the CRR webpage<http://www.ercot.com/mktinfo/crr>, under CRR MUI UPGRADE:

********* CRR MUI Upgrade FAQ

********* CRR MUI Upgrade User Interface Handbook

********* CRR MUI Upgrade User Interface Specifications

********* CRR MUI Upgrade Requalification Process and Scorecard

********* CRR MUI Upgrade Sample Upload Files

ACTION REQUIRED: Please confirm access to MOTE (https://testing.ercot.com/) with a valid digital certificate prior to the start of the requalification period. If needed, registered User Security Administrators (USAs) can request digital certificates via email to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. Note that the MOTE link to the MUI Upgrade may be intermittently unavailable prior to September 18, 2017.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A new online market training course will be posted to the ERCOT Learning Management System (LMS) prior to the start of the requalification period. The course will provide a detailed overview of the new MUI for both CRR Account Holders and Counter-Parties. A Market Notice will be sent when the course is available.

ERCOT will also be hosting two WebEx sessions to demonstrate the tasks to be performed to complete the requalification process. Additional details on these sessions will be provided in a future Market Notice.

ERCOT will provide project updates at each Congestion Management Working Group (CMWG) meeting leading up to the implementation date.
