SHORT DESCRIPTION: 2013 ERCOT Black Start Training
INTENDED AUDIENCE: TDSPs, Black Start and Next Start QSEs and Resources
DAYS AFFECTED: Registration available November 5 - December 7, 2012
LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT will host the 2013 ERCOT Black Start Training in Taylor, TX beginning February 5 - 7, 2013.
There will be six training sessions scheduled, and each session will be held over three days with a half day the first day, a full day the second, and a half day on the third. The first day will start at 12:00 CPT and end at 17:00 CPT, covering Black Start theory and the responsibilities of each entity involved in the restoration process. The second day will start at 07:00 CPT and last until 17:00 CPT, and the third day will begin at 07:00 CPT and end at 14:00 CPT. The second and third days will focus on simulating the restoration of the ERCOT System.
There is also a dry run rehearsal session scheduled for January 8 - 10, 2013, to be attended by trainers, managers and designated required representatives exclusively. Attendees of the rehearsal session are required to register in advance by completing the registration form.
For completion of the three day training session, twenty (20) NERC approved Continuing Education Hours (CEHs) will be awarded. Fifteen (15) of the CEHs will count towards the ERCOT Simulation requirement.
ACTION REQUIRED: All Market Participants that plan to attend must complete the attached registration form and return to Diana Sanchez ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) no later than December 7, 2012.
Registration for classes will begin on November 5, 2012.
