SHORT DESCRIPTION: ERCOT has scheduled a workshop for Friday, March 1, 2013, to discuss a proposed pilot project for Weather-Sensitive Emergency Response Service (ERS) Loads

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: March 1, 2013

LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT has scheduled a workshop to discuss a proposed pilot project for Weather-Sensitive Emergency Response Service (ERS) Loads and the associated draft Governing Document. The workshop will be held in Room 206B of the ERCOT Met Center on Friday, March 1, 2013, from 13:00 to 15:00 CPT, and will also be available via WebEx. ERCOT will provide overviews of both NPRR505 and the draft Governing Document.

ERCOT will post the draft Governing Document by Wednesday, February 27, 2013. ERCOT staff plans to present the proposed Governing Document to the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) at its March 7, 2013, meeting, to be followed by consideration by the ERCOT Board of Directors on March 19, 2013. ERCOT's intent is to launch the pilot in conjunction with the procurement of ERS for the June through September 2013 Standard Contract Term.

On February 21, 2013, the Protocol Revision Subcommittee (PRS) voted to table indefinitely NPRR505, ERS Weather Sensitive Loads. ERCOT staff requested the action and stated its intent to initiate the concept of NPRR505 in the form of a pilot project, following discussion at the February 7, 2013, TAC meeting where a general consensus of the membership expressed a preference for the pilot concept at this time. ERCOT staff also committed to conduct a workshop on the pilot prior to the March 7, 2013 TAC meeting.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: WebEx details are posted on the meeting page for this workshop at: http://www.ercot.com/calendar/2013/03/20130301-WeatherSens.
