LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT will be hosting conference calls to help answer
questions related to the MPIM system. These calls will take place on
March 27, 2008 and April 1, 2008 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Please call
1-800-373-0950 (pass code is 123316) to participate in the calls. If you have questions
after reviewing the attached documentation and plan to participate in the call,
please e-mail the questions to your ERCOT Account Manager prior to the call.
Your Account Manager will then log the questions so that they can be addressed
during the call.

scheduled an outage for the release of the MPIM (Market Participant Identity
Management) system.

LONG DESCRIPTION:
New functionality for Market Participant USAs to manage Digital
Certificate users and manage user access via the Market Participant Identity
Management (MPIM) system will be deployed on Saturday, March 29, 2008. As part of
the MPIM project implementation, ERCOT has scheduled an outage of the existing
USA User Access functionality in TML beginning Friday, March 28, 2008 at 5:00
PM. The outage will impact all User Access activities:
After 5:00 PM Friday, March 28, 2008 the existing TML USA User
Access functionality will no longer be available. Beginning Monday, March
31, 2008 Market Participant USAs must begin using the MPIM system to
manage users and manage user access.
TML
users may experience a session timeout during the implementation of the new
application. If so, click refresh and the screen will reconnect
automatically and no data will be lost.

ACTION
REQUIRED: If Market Participants have Digital
Certificates that will expire prior to March 28, 2008, they should renew those
certificates as soon as possible. MP USAs will need to pick up any outstanding approved certificates
in TML prior to 5:00 PM on Friday, March 28, 2008, otherwise they will be
rejected and will have to be re-issued in MPIM.
Following
the MPIM implementation, the “renew certificate” functionality will
not be available for twelve (12) months. During these 12 months, USAs
will be required to issue new certificates through MPIM to replace existing
digital certificates that will be expiring, similar to what is done under the
current process.
ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION: The MPIM Overview Presentation and User
Guide will be sent to registered User Security Administrators (USAs) and Backup
USAs as a separate email.

After 5:00 PM Friday, March 7, 2008 the TML USA User Access
functionality will no longer be available. Beginning Monday, March 10,
2008 Market Participant USAs will begin using the MPIM system to
manage users and manage user access.
Additional information
regarding user guides and training opportunities will be provided as it becomes
available.
ACTION
REQUIRED: If Market Participants have Digital Certificates
that will expire during the March 3rd through the 14th
timeframe, they should re-issue those certificates at least ten (10) days in
advance.
The
renew user function will be disabled for twelve (12) months following
the MPIM implementation. USAs
will be required to issue all new Digital Certificates via the MPIM system.
ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION: As of 5:00 PM Friday, March 7, 2008
all certificates previously issued within the Market Operating Testing
Environment (MOTE) will be decommissioned. Prior to the implementation of
the MPIM system,
ERCOT will re-issue one MOTE certificate to each appropriate entity. This
