SHORT DESCRIPTION:  The MarkeTrak System is continuing to experience service degradation. 

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  CRs and TDSPs

LONG DESCRIPTION:  The MarkeTrak System is continuing to experience service degradation.  As stated in Market notice sent on February 28, 2008 (R-A022608-03 UPDATE Other:  MarkeTrak Degradation), the degradation is related to a database server and is only impacting the performance of MarkeTrak.  Retail transaction processing has not been impacted by this issue.

During the March 30, 2008 maintenance window, ERCOT will be implementing a database change to reduce the contention on the Customer Registration Database.

ERCOT worked with the Market for the schedule of the Station ID name changes to support Nodal (M-A113007-01).

In order to not impact that schedule, ERCOT will throttle the 814_20 and 814_21 transactions during business hours and will open up the queues after hours in order to allow the transactions to clear before the start of the next business day.

The implementation of these steps by ERCOT should be able to minimize the degradation on MarkeTrak until the Customer Registration Database server change is implemented.

DAY AFFECTED:   March 3, 2008 from 7:55 AM to 8:30 AM

LONG DESCRIPTION:  MarkeTrak was unavailable this morning, March 3, 2008, from 7:55 AM until approximately 8:30 AM. 

The application has been restored, however it is experiencing performance degradation.  ERCOT is researching the issue.  Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
