SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Update on ERCOT reprocessing efforts and providing all affected Market Participants with a list of duplicates          

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  All Market Participants        

LONG DESCRIPTION:  The reprocessing efforts resulting from the March 12, 2008 retail transaction processing outage (referenced in Market notice M-A031208) are still underway.  A majority of the reprocessing completed as late as 4:00 AM this morning, March 24, 2008.

The validation and preparation of lists for affected Market Participants will not be available today as indicated in the original notice sent on March 21, 2008 (see M-B032108-01 below).   The lists are expected to be ready after 3:00 PM tomorrow, Tuesday, March 25, 2008.  ERCOT Retail Account Managers will provide the lists to affected Market Participants as soon as possible.

The ERCOT outage completed at approximately 12:00 PM today, Saturday, March 22, 2008.  All systems and transaction processing were reinstated at that time.

CLASSIFICATION:  Public

SHORT DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT has scheduled an unplanned outage for Saturday, March 22, 2008.        

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  All Market Participants        

DAY AFFECTED:  Saturday, March 22, 2008 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM        

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT has scheduled an unplanned outage for Saturday, March 22, 2008 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

The reprocessing efforts resulting from the March 12, 2008 retail transaction processing outage (referenced in Market notice M-A031208) will be delayed as a result of this outage.

Due to the volume of files needing to be reprocessed and recent production issues there is the possibility of duplicate outbound transactions. 

ERCOT Retail Account Manager’s will provide all affected Market Participant’s with a list of duplicates after 3:00 PM on Monday, March 24, 2008.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  During the outage the following functions will be affected:

  • Market Participants utilizing NAESB to send/receive transactions to/from ERCOT will NOT be able to send/receive transactions to/from ERCOT during the outage.  This includes all retail transactions.
  • 867 Transactions will NOT be forwarded during the outage.
  • 997 functional acknowledgements will NOT be sent during the outage.
  • Components of the TML and commercial API will NOT be available including:
    • Find ESI ID
    • Find Transaction
    • Submit Transactions
    • USA Functionalities
    • Report Explorer, including
      • Reports
      • Extracts
      • Invoices
      • Settlement Statements
    • Extract Scheduler
    • Web Services Data Requests  
  • ERCOT internet services will NOT be available, including but not limited to:

MOS, Scheduling API, MOSTML, MOSPUBLIC, and Outage Scheduler will not be affected as there will be a DNS failover from Taylor to Austin.
