SHORT DESCRIPTION: The Schedule \
Unschedule an Extract function of the Texas Market Link (TML) experienced an
outage from Sunday, March 30, 2008 at approximately 6:00 PM through Thursday,
April 17, 2008 at approximately 3:00 PM.

DAY AFFECTED: Sunday, March 30,
2008 at approximately 6:00 PM through Thursday, April 17, 2008 at approximately
3:00 PM.
LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT experienced an outage of the Schedule \
Unschedule an Extract function of the Texas Market Link (TML) as a result of
the implementation of Market Participant Identification Management
(MPIM). The issues began Sunday, March 30, 2008 at approximately
6:00 PM and continued through Thursday, April 17, 2008 at approximately 3:00
PM.
The
issue was identified by a Market Participant on 4/14/2008. Troubleshooting
analysis took place and was believed to be isolated to the Market Participant user.
ERCOT received additional helpdesk tickets, which furthered the troubleshooting
analysis. Root cause was determined to be related to the code changes required
for MPIM. An emergency change was implemented on 4/17/2008 to resolve the
issue.
Market
Participants who did not try to access the Schedule
\ Unschedule an Extract function of the Texas Market Link (TML) during this
period were not affected by this outage.
Users
accessing the site received the following error:
“The company
name was not found”.
The
Schedule \ Unschedule an Extract function of the Texas Market Link (TML) is now
functioning normally.
