SHORT DESCRIPTION: ERCOT 2008 Severe Weather Hurricane Drill

LONG DESCRIPTION: The annual “Severe Weather Drill” as required by the ERCOT Operating Guide, Section 1.8.5, will be conducted May 12 - 14, 2008. This year’s Drill will simulate a Category 4 Hurricane. Below is a timeline of events and due dates.
Transmission Service Providers and QSEs representing Resources are required to participate in the system operations drill.
Other interested Market Participants are invited to participate in the emergency communications drill which runs simultaneous with the operations drill. ERCOT corporate communications will conduct an email-only drill which simulates crisis notification. Participants are welcomed to simulate the use of their own internal emergency plans. Operations staff of other Market Participants (e.g., QSEs that do not represent Resources) are welcome to email Kelly Blackmer to participate with ERCOT Operations in Hot Line calls.
