INTENDED AUDIENCE: QSEs DAY AFFECTED: April 21 through April 30, 2008 LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT conducted an emergency database failover on April 21, 2008 following a hardware failure. This database failover resulted in an out-of-synch (OOS) data problem from April 21 through April 30. ERCOT has developed a phased process to attempt to thoroughly recover the missing data. Phase 1: Repair the out-of-synch situation and begin posting daily extracts was completed as expected. However, during the course of executing Phase 2, a gap was exposed due to changes in the replication strategy during the time period affected because of system upgrades and migration. A modified Phase 2 recovery plan has been initiated and is outlined below: Recover the EMMS data for April 21 through April 30, 2008 into ISM. 1. Restore/recover source database to 3/31/08 23:59:59 - in progress 2. Restore/recover target database to 3/31/08 23:59:59 - in progress 3. Validate source and target database match 100% at 3/31/08 23:59:59 4. Restore/apply files from 4/1/08 00:00:00 to 4/21/08 10:44:00 5. Generate/apply source transactions to target for DATA GAP period (4/21/08 10:44:01 to 4/22/08 11:14:00) 6. Restore/apply files from 4/22/08 11:14:01 thru 4/31/08 23:59:59 7. Validate results and run data extracts 8. Merge transaction period from 4/21/08 10:44:00 to 4/31/08 23:59:59 back to PROD 9. If no errors or gaps are found, the following extracts will be generated for April 21 through April 30, 2008: Act_Res_Output Ancillary_Services_Daily Bids_and_Schedules_Daily Forecast_Data_Daily Market_Information_Daily Sched_and_Actual_Load Self_Sch_Energy_Services ASDEPLOYMENTS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: ERCOT has filed with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), NOTICE OF P.U.C.
