SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Web-based Nodal Market training courses

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED:  May 27, 2008

LONG DESCRIPTION:  The ERCOT Nodal Market training curriculum requires the development of training courses in instructor-led and web-based training formats.  This is a notice to update Market Participants on the list of available web-based training courses.  While some of these have been available for a few months, ERCOT has recently added two new courses (Network Model Management, Congestion Revenue Rights).  The following courses are now available in a web-based training format:

  1. ERCOT Nodal 101
  2. Transition to Nodal Markets
  3. Load Serving Entity 201
  4. Network Model Management
  5. Congestion Revenue Rights

Web-Based Training (WBT) courses are accessible by Market Participants through the Learning Management System (LMS) at https://www.ercottraining.com/lms/default.asp .

ERCOT is working to complete the development of the remaining web-based training courses specified in the Nodal Market training curriculum. The list below shows the upcoming web-based training courses and the month in which the courses are expected to be completed:

  1. Basic Training Program – June 2008
  2. Generation 101 – June 2008
  3. Transmission 101 – July 2008
  4. ERCOT 101 for Wind Generation – August 2008
  5. Market Information System – July 2008

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Market Participant training is an integral part of ERCOT’s efforts to help Market Participants transition to the ERCOT Nodal Market.    

To access this and other Nodal Market training classes, please go to the Nodal training website at http://nodal.ercot.com/training/courses/index.html. Select “View Schedule” for the class you are interested in attending then select “Enroll Online” to register for the classes listed above using the LMS.
