SHORT DESCRIPTION:  New Nodal Market training courses, Generation 201 and Transmission 101, are now available.

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED:  June 24, 2008 and June 30, 2008

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT announces the launch of two new courses in its Nodal Market training curriculum, Generation 201 and Transmission 101.

	Generation 201 is the second of three extended courses to supplement the Basic Training Program and covers Nodal Market concepts pertaining to QSE Operations in Day-Ahead Operations (Day-Ahead Market and Reliability Unit Commitment).  The other two courses are Generation 101 (Real-Time Operations) and Generation 301 (Resource Parameters, Operational Data and Verifiable Cost).  Generation 201 is a two-day course.

	 Transmission 101 will provide key operations information on the Nodal Market for Transmission Service Providers (TSPs) and ERCOT on transmission system operations.  The course covers the roles and responsibilities of TSPs in maintaining an accurate network model as well as the impact of the network model on the Nodal Market.  The course will also review operation and processes surrounding Outage Scheduling, Outage Evaluation, and Forced Outage Detection.  Transmission 101 is a 2 ½ day course.

The initial offering of both courses will be held in Austin during the month of June.  Generation 201 is scheduled for June 24 - June 25, 2008.  The first session of the Transmission 101 is scheduled for June 30 - July 1, 2008.  Subsequent sessions for Houston, Dallas and other locations will soon be posted to the website.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Market Participant training is an integral part of ERCOT's efforts to help Market Participants transition to the ERCOT Nodal Market.  This course is a part of the series of courses being developed by ERCOT on the Nodal Market.
