SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Texas Regional Entity is hosting the Critical Infrastructure Protection Workshop on October 1, 2008.

LONG DESCRIPTION:

Texas Regional Entity (Texas RE) will host the Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Workshop on October 1, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The workshop will cover CIP standards CIP-001-1 through CIP-009-1. The workshop also covers the Cyber Standards Final Rule – Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Order 706.

Other topics include Risk Assessment Working Group (RAWG) activities; the applicability of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM); CIP self-certification through the Texas RE’s portal (under development); and protecting against insider threats.

A panel discussion with market participants on the development and implementation of CIP methodologies follows the presentations.
