NOTICE TYPE:  R-A100208-01 – Informational:  Customer Care Notification Mailers 
SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Customer Care Switch Cancellation Notifications mailed with a date that does not allow the end use customer to cancel the switch using the automated process.  

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  CRs and TDSPs  
DAY AFFECTED:  September 23 and 24, 2008  
LONG DESCRIPTION:  On October 2, 2008, ERCOT discovered a failed process in the mailing of switch notifications.   ERCOT submitted a file containing 2,179 switches from September 23 and 24 with the last cancellation date being the same as the transaction submission date.  The impacted customers received the switch cancellation notice showing a last cancellation date prior to the date the notice was mailed.  ERCOT’s automated process will not allow these customers to cancel their switches.

Customers contacting ERCOT are being assisted with the manual cancellation of their switches. 
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  ERCOT’s Retail Account Managers will be providing a list of impacted ESI IDs to the appropriate CRs by noon tomorrow, October 3.
