NOTICE TYPE:  M-B092608-04 Settlements

CLASSIFICATION: Public

SHORT DESCRIPTION:  UPDATE – ERCOT to adjust Coast Weather Zone Load Profiles

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  Operating Days September 13-28, 2008

LONG DESCRIPTION: The coefficients utilized to adjust the Backcasted Load Profiles for the Coast Weather Zone are published on the ERCOT website as a Key Document on the Load Profiling page.  The link to the Load Profiling page is

http://www.ercot.com/mktinfo/loadprofile.

ERCOT has added an additional tab to the spreadsheet detailing what the Coast Weather Zone Load Profiles would have been, if not adjusted for the numbers of Customers without power. These Load Profiles are being provided for informational purposes only.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: In accordance with PUC Project No. 36150 (Issues Relating to the Disaster Resulting from Hurricane Ike), ERCOT adjusted all Load Profiles for the Coast Weather Zone used for aggregating Load for Operating Days September 13-28, 2008.

The Coast Weather Zone Load Profiles were scaled down to better reflect the proportion of Customers that have power based on market communications from CenterPoint Energy. For example, if 20% of the Customers had power on a particular Operating Day, all Coast Weather Zone Load Profiles for that Operating Day would be multiplied by 20% (reduced by 80%). ERCOT used the daily communications from CenterPoint Energy to determine the percent of Customers with power.

No adjustments will be made to the IDR proxy day process.
