SHORT DESCRIPTION: Implementation of LPGRR030 and LPGRR031

INTENDED AUDIENCE: All Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED: January 1, 2009

LONG DESCRIPTION: The ERCOT Board of Directors approved LPGRR030, Distributed Renewable Generation Modifications, on May 20, 2008. In a market notice sent on June 3, ERCOT notified the market that the DRG profile types would go into effect on January 1, 2009.

LPGRR031, Profile Decision Tree Changes for Distributed Renewable Generation was approved by the ERCOT Board of Directors on November 17, 2008. LPGRR031 removed IDRRG (approved in LPGRR030) as a valid profile segment because it is now addressed by other profile segments.

The new profile types for which load profiles will be published and used in settlement are:

Additionally, a revised Profile Decision Tree (Appendix D of the LPG) has been posted with the LPG, and has an effective date of January 1, 2009.

The forecasted load profiles will include the new profile types for the eight weather zones for all days in the forecast beginning with the forecasted load profiles posted on December 29, 2008.

The backcasted load profiles will include the new profile types for the eight weather zones beginning with Operating Day January 1, 2009, which will be found in the backcasted load profile extract posted on January 2, 2009.

ACTION REQUIRED: Market Participants whose automated systems process forecasted and backcasted load profiles need to make sure that their systems will handle the inclusion of the new load profiles.

TDSPs may submit to ERCOT the information specified on the DRG tab of the Profile Decision Tree. The preferred method for submission of these requests and the required documentation is via email to the following address: [log in to unmask].

ERCOT will coordinate with TDSPs on DRG sites for which the above-referenced information has already been submitted.
