SHORT DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT announces a new Web-based Nodal Market training course

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  December 2, 2008

LONG DESCRIPTION:  The ERCOT Nodal Market training curriculum requires the development of training courses in instructor-led and web-based training formats.  ERCOT has recently added a web-based training version of the popular Basic Training Program.  The Basic Training Program, which is also offered as a five-day instructor-led course, provides a Nodal Market design overview of Day-Ahead operations, the Adjustment Period and the Operating Period.  This basic course is designed to provide key information to Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs), Transmission Service Providers (TSPs) and ERCOT for conducting business in the Nodal Market.

The following courses are currently available in a web-based training format:

  1. ERCOT Nodal 101
  2. Transition to Nodal Markets
  3. Load Serving Entity 201
  4. Network Model Management
  5. Congestion Revenue Rights
  6. Basic Training Program

Web-Based Training (WBT) courses are accessible by Market Participants through the Learning Management System (LMS) at https://www.ercottraining.com/lms/default.asp.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Market Participant training is an integral part of ERCOT’s efforts to help Market Participants transition to the ERCOT Nodal Market.

Select “View Schedule” for the class you are interested in attending.  Select “Enroll Online” to register for the classes listed above using ERCOT’s Learning Management System.
