SHORT DESCRIPTION: Valley SPS Modification Proposal

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

LONG DESCRIPTION: The ERCOT ISO has received a proposal from Oncor Electric Delivery to modify the Valley Special Protection Scheme (SPS). This SPS ramps back and/or trips generation at Valley and Kiamichi. The proposed modification would change the arming level on the Anna – Collin 345 kV Line to 2880 Amps from 2280 Amps. The change is being proposed to recognize and take advantage of the upgrade of the Anna – Collin 345 kV Line which was completed in 2008. The setting on the Anna – Collin 345 kV Line was established to protect the downstream Collin – NW Carrollton 345 kV Line.

The ERCOT ISO is initiating a review of this Type-1 SPS at this time. Information regarding this SPS can be viewed on the ERCOT Planning and Operations Information secure website at http://planning.ercot.com/login/login.
