SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Sandow Switch SPS will temporarily be out of service

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  January 20, 2009

LONG DESCRIPTION:  The Sandow SPS (Special Protection System) was disabled in order to perform temporary repairs at the Sandow Plant substation and originally expected to return to service today. It has been determined that more lengthy repairs are necessary than originally anticipated. The SPS is expected to be out of service until Saturday or Sunday (January 24-25). As soon as the repairs are made and the SPS is restored to service, ERCOT will notify the Market.
