SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Sandow Switching Station SPS Proposal

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  Proposed April 10, 2009

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT has received a proposal from Oncor Electric Delivery for a new Special Protection System (SPS) at Sandow Switching Station.  This SPS is intended to protect against post-contingency overloading on the Sandow – Taylor, Sandow – Elgin, and Elgin – Gilleland 138 kV Lines and the Sandow 345/138 kV Autotransformer that may occur under various conditions with the addition of Sandow unit # 5.

ERCOT is initiating a review of this Type-1 SPS at this time.  Information regarding SPSs can be viewed on the ERCOT Planning and Operations Information secure website:  http://planning.ercot.com/login/login.
