SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Valley SPS Modification Proposal

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT has reviewed and approved a proposal to modify the Valley Special Protection Scheme (SPS) submitted by Oncor Electric Delivery.  This SPS ramps back and/or trips generation at Valley and Kiamichi in response to various conditions overloading the monitored elements.  The proposed modification will change the arming level on the Anna – Collin 345 kV Line to 2880 Amps from 2280 Amps.  The change was proposed to recognize and utilize the upgrade of the Anna – Collin 345 kV Line which was completed in 2008.  The setting on the Anna – Collin 345 kV Line was established to protect the downstream Collin – NW Carrollton 345 kV Line.
