NOTICE TYPE:  R-A081009-01   Outage – Texas Market Link

SHORT DESCRIPTION:  The Submit Transaction, Find ESIID, and Find Transactions components of the Texas Market Link (TML) experienced an outage in service from 6:30 AM to 1:45 PM on Monday, August 10, 2009.

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED:  August 10, 2009 from 6:30 AM to 1:45 PM

LONG DESCRIPTION:  The Submit Transaction, Find ESIID, and Find Transactions components of the Texas Market Link (TML) experienced an outage in service from 6:30 AM to 1:45 PM on Monday, August 10, 2009.

Users were experiencing either slow response or connection timeout messages when accessing the “Submit Transaction”, "Find ESIID", and “Find Transaction” functions from the Retail TML website. 

The root cause was slow database performance as a result of updated database statistics. As of 1:45 PM, ERCOT has rolled-back the updated database statistics and the performance has returned to normal. 

ERCOT will continue to monitor performance.
