SHORT DESCRIPTION:  NAESB became unresponsive at approximately 4:25 AM on Sunday, August 16, 2009. ERCOT was unable to receive or send transactions from approximately 4:25 AM until 7:58 AM on Sunday, August 16, 2009.

 INTENDED AUDIENCE:  CRs and TDSPs        

DAY AFFECTED:  Sunday, August 16 from 4:25 AM to 7:58 AM

LONG DESCRIPTION:  NAESB became unresponsive at approximately 4:25 AM on Sunday, August 16, 2009. ERCOT was unable to receive or send transactions from approximately 4:25 AM until 7:58 AM on Sunday, August 16, 2009.

The NAESB, EDI, EAI, Customer Registration, and MarkeTrak databases had to be stopped and restarted.

Root cause has not yet been determined. Details will be provided in the monthly ERCOT IT Incident Market Notice Summary.

This will be the final notice regarding this incident.
