NOTICE TYPE: M-A092509-01 – Informational – Internal update of the Premise Address data in the Customer Registration Database

 

SHORT DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT will perform an internal update of addresses in the Customer Registration Database

 

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  All Market Participants 

       

DAY AFFECTED:  Monday, October 26, 2009

 

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On Monday, October 26, 2009, ERCOT will be performing an internal update to remove invalid character combinations (i.e. &, &, APOS;, ', ') from the Premise Address field within the Customer Registration Database. 

 

These changes will be reflected immediately in the Texas Market Link (TML) Find ESIID application and on the Full TDSP ESI ID Extract, beginning with the posting on Tuesday, November 3, 2009.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  This effort is being performed so that Market Participants viewing the ESIID Premise Address field on Texas Market Link (TML) or in ERCOT market participant extracts receives the data correctly (without the invalid text of &, &, APOS;, ', ').  The invalid text of ‘amp’ will be replaced with the word ‘and’.  The text of ‘apos’ will be completely removed.  For example, HWY 16 & 11TH will become HWY 16 AND 11TH and, 10114 ST GEORGE'S DR will become 10114 ST GEORGES DR.

 

Per Texas SET guidelines, the Customer Service Address field (N301) in the 814_20 transaction is an alphanumeric field, and punctuation must be excluded.  Addresses which contain the invalid character combinations were set up this way at market open.  Any 814_20 Create received by ERCOT that does not meet the Texas SET guidelines will be rejected.
