NOTICE DATE: October 5, 2009 NOTICE TYPE: R-A100509-01 INITIAL - Retail Processing SHORT DESCRIPTION: ERCOT experienced retail transaction processing degradation from approximately 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 1, 2009. INTENDED AUDIENCE: CRs and TDSPs DAY AFFECTED: October 1, 2009 from approximately 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT experienced retail transaction processing degradation from approximately 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 1, 2009. The backlogged transactions processed outbound by 4:20 PM. The degradation was the result of performance tuning on an application database that was involved in the PR80031_01 Retail Application Upgrades implemented on September 27, 2009. ERCOT is continuing to perform the required application and database tuning. ERCOT will closely monitor transaction processing to minimize any external impacts. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: ERCOT has analyzed these issues to determine the volume and transactions impacted.
