NOTICE DATE: January 11, 2010
NOTICE TYPE: W-B011110-01 Operations
SHORT DESCRIPTION: NDCRC application approval
INTENDED AUDIENCE: QSEs with Resources and Resource Entities
DAY AFFECTED: December 1, 2008
LONG DESCRIPTION: The Net Dependable Capability and Reactive Capability (NDCRC) application has been available for Market Participants through the Texas Market Link (TML) since September 1, 2008. This application is a web interface that allows Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs) with Generation Resources to submit the ERCOT required seasonal High Sustained Limit (HSL), biennial unit reactive tests and results of the unannounced tests online. The application also provides mechanisms that allow Market Participants to enter and submit test data, reactive capability curves (D-Curves) and D-Curve data points.
When a test is submitted into the NDCRC application, the approval notice given upon submittal is simply an indication that the test submission was successful and NOT an indication that the test has been approved by ERCOT. When the test is approved, the NDCRC application status will display "Approved". Once approved by ERCOT, the HSL submitted will be effective only after the subsequent database load. The database load schedule can be viewed at: http://www.ercot.com/gridinfo/transmission/opsys-change-schedule. Seasonal HSLs submitted at least two business days prior to the database load will be included in the subsequent batch-load files for the database load.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Use of the NDCRC application has been mandatory for submitting seasonal and biennial unit tests and results of unannounced tests since December 1, 2008. Paper copies are no longer accepted.
