SHORT DESCRIPTION: Upcoming Nodal Settlements Workshops

LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT announces that it will offer Market Participant workshops on Settlement of the Reliability Unit Commitment (RUC) process and Real-Time Market (RTM) during February and March 2010. The locations and schedules for the courses are shown below. The RUC/RTM settlement workshops are the third in a series of settlement workshops planned by ERCOT as part of its training program in preparation for the Nodal Market. Previous workshops included Settlement of Congestion Revenue Rights (CRRs) and the Day-Ahead Market (DAM).

Settlements Workshop - RUC/RTM: This will be an instructor-led three day workshop and will present the settlement of the Reliability Unit Commitment (RUC) process and Real-Time Market (RTM) from the perspective of a Qualified Scheduling Entity (QSE) including:

RUC Module

RUC Make Whole/Clawback including Eligibility, Verifiable Costs, and RTAIEC
RUC Decommitment Calculation and Load Allocation
RUC Capacity Short Calculation including multiple RUC processes, HASL substitution for RUC Decommitment/Forced Outage and Wind Resources

RTM Module

Real Time Energy Imbalance
Base Point Deviation calculation
Voltage Support calculation
Revenue Neutrality
Ancillary Services

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Market Participant training is an integral part of ERCOT’s efforts to help Market Participants transition to the ERCOT Nodal Market. These workshops are part of a series of instructor-led and web-based training courses available to Market Participants.

Due to the nature of the classroom materials used and the interaction required to effectively deliver these workshops, ERCOT does not plan to make these workshops available via WebEx or as a recorded presentations. ERCOT strongly recommends that settlement personnel take advantage of these workshops which are being offered prior to the Market Trial phases in which they will be receiving settlement statements and invoices.
