SHORT DESCRIPTION: ERCOT will implement
changes to the MarkeTrak application as discussed in the MarkeTrak Task Force
meeting on March 2, 2010. These changes are part of an ongoing effort to
improve application performance.
INTENDED AUDIENCE: CRs and TDSPs
DAY AFFECTED: March 24, 2010
LONG
DESCRIPTION: ERCOT will be implementing changes to the MarkeTrak
application as discussed in the MarkeTrak Task Force meeting on March 2,
2010. These changes are part of an ongoing effort to improve application
performance.
ERCOT will implement the
following changes after the SLA period ending at 7:00 PM on March 24, 2010.
·
Change
the auto log off time period to 30 minutes. It is currently set to 60
minutes. This should not impact end users as re-authentication is
seamless. This will reduce the number of idle users that are logged into
MarkeTrak at any given time and therefore open up additional system
resources.
·
Increase
the amount of time between automated Registration Status checks that MarkeTrak
performs on IAG/IAL and Cancel issues when they are Pending Complete.
This effort will reduce the amount of traffic on the MarkeTrak servers which
should improve overall system performance.
·
Continue
decreasing the monthly issue archiving timeline from the original configuration
(issues closed greater than 13 months in the past) to the goal of issues closed
greater than 7 months in the past. Archived issues are accessible via the
Background Report workflow. This effort will reduce the number of active
MarkeTrak issues in the tool. It will speed up search times and reduce the
traffic on the MarkeTrak servers.

Update
homepage for users that have not changed from the default to the Welcome to
MarkeTrak page. ERCOT has found that many end users have their homepages
set up to auto run resource intensive reports at the time they log into
MarkeTrak. These users may or may not be knowingly running these reports and
they may not be necessary at this time. ERCOT will reset the end users
home page to not auto run these reports in an effort to reduce unnecessary
traffic on the MarkeTrak servers.
