LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT announces that an updated web-based training version of the ERCOT Nodal 101 training course is now available on the ERCOT Learning Management System (LMS) for all market participants. ERCOT Nodal 101 provides a high level overview of the changes to the ERCOT market as a result of the upcoming transition from the current zonal market to a Nodal market design. The course provides a high level overview of the major components of the ERCOT Nodal market, including:

·         Locational Marginal Pricing (LMP)

·         Congestion Revenue Rights (CRRs)

·         Day-Ahead Market (DAM)

·         Reliability Unit Commitment (RUC)

·         Real-Time Operations

This course is a prerequisite for many of the courses in ERCOT’s Nodal Market Training Curriculum.

Web-based training courses allow Market Participants to take a self-paced online version of the ERCOT Nodal 101 course which is also available as a classroom course and offered at various locations around the state. The online course will also allow those that have attended the classroom version of the course to review the training materials as needed.

Market Participants may take the web-based training version of this course, followed by the online end-of-course exam, to receive credit for completion of the ERCOT Nodal 101 course.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Market Participant training is an integral part of ERCOT’s efforts to help Market Participants transition to the ERCOT Nodal Market. These courses are part of a series of instructor-led and web-based training courses available to Market Participants.
