SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Zonal Extracts and Reports Download File Name Changes and corresponding User Guides posted

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT has an upcoming change to the extract and reports download file name format, from Texas Market Link (TML) and the Retail API, scheduled for Sunday, August 8, 2010. To accompany this change updated Zonal User Guides have been posted to ERCOT.com website (http://www.ercot.com/services/mdt/userguides/index). There is no change to the display file naming convention.

The new download file name format using IE7:

Explanation of file name parts:

·         Prefix – Values include ext, rpt, cdr or msc.

·         Report type ID - The report ids for all reports are listed in the ERCOT Market Information List (EMIL) posted on the Nodal ERCOT website (http://nodal.ercot.com/readiness/reports/index.html). It will also be available on MIS Services page at Nodal Go-live.

·         DUNSNUMBER - This is the DUNSNUMBER. For a 9 digit DUNS, there will be 7 zeros padded to the left of the DUNS. For a 13 digit DUNS, there will be 3 zeros padded to the left of the DUNS. Total length will be 16 digits + the period. For all Public and Secure reports this field will contain 16 zeros.

·         Posting Date – This is the posting date of the file.

·         Posting Time – This is the posting time of the file.

·         Filename – This is the common name of the file. This is a free text area that will be less than 648 digits + the period that uses alphanumeric, as well as underscores and dashes.

·         Extension – This is the file extension. Common ones used are csv, doc, pdf, xls, zip.

·         Prefix – Values include ext, rpt, cdr or msc. The [#] is most commonly [1].

·         Report type ID - The report ids for all reports are listed in the ERCOT Market Information List (EMIL) posted on the Nodal ERCOT website (http://nodal.ercot.com/readiness/reports/index.html). It will also be available on MIS Services page at Nodal Go-live.

Additional Information: The Retail API All/All call that currently returns all extracts and reports for all of time available for market participants to download will change to only return 3 days of extracts and reports. This change is in support of performance enhancements being performed to better support zonal and nodal market data downloads.
