NOTICE TYPE:  Education/Training

SHORT DESCRIPTION:  A Web-Based Training module for the Market Information System (MIS) is now available

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  Nodal Accountable Executives, Nodal Transition Project Managers, Market Trial Contacts

DAY AFFECTED:  September 24, 2010

LONG DESCRIPTION:  The ERCOT MIS is a web-based user interface for delivering Market data to Market Participants. It was established by the ERCOT Nodal Protocols as the single-source for all ERCOT-published Market information related to system operations, market operations, and financial settlement. The MIS also serves as the gateway through which Market Participants access the applications used in their interactions with ERCOT during the operation of the nodal market, such as submitting market transactions and service requests, subscribing to data extracts and submitting settlement disputes.

ERCOT has developed a web-based training module to introduce the MIS to new users and provide reference material for users. This training module is recommended for all Market Participants.

ACTION REQUIRED:  To access this and other Nodal market training courses, go to the Nodal training website at http://nodal.ercot.com/training/courses/index.html. To access the MIS course, select “View Schedule” for the “Market Information Systems course and then select “Enroll Online” to register using the Learning Management System (LMS).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Market Participant training is an integral part of ERCOT’s efforts to help Market Participants transition to the ERCOT Nodal Market. This course is part of a series of instructor-led and web-based training courses available to Market Participants.
