SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Centerville Switch SPS status revision

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  November 30, 2010

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT has received a request to revise the Special Protection System (SPS) designation for the Oncor Centerville Switch (Oncor SPS #27). Oncor has requested that the two line reactors at Centerville Switch which are currently in-service in manual mode be designated as the permanent operating state for this site; thereby removing the SPS designation for this configuration.

ERCOT has vetted the proposal and finds that because the reactors are normally in-service the configuration is no longer acting as an SPS. Based on this review, ERCOT recommends that the SPS designation for this transmission configuration be removed and the reactors at Centerville Switch remain in-service in manual mode.
