SHORT DESCRIPTION:  REMINDER – TSPs to submit their equipment rating methodologies before November 15, 2010

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  Transmission Service Providers (TSPs)

DAY AFFECTED:  Ratings to be submitted before November 15, 2010

LONG DESCRIPTION:  This Notice is a reminder for TSPs to submit their rating methodologies, in accordance with Nodal Protocol Section 3.10 (3), before November 15, 2010, to be posted to the Market Information System (MIS) for Nodal Go-Live. All methodologies will be posted under the TSP Rating Methodology link at https://mis.ercot.com/pps/tibco/mis/Pages/Grid+Information/Long+Term+Planning.   

ACTION REQUIRED:  If you have not already done so, TSPs shall submit any needed equipment rating methodologies as an attachment to a Special Action Model Request (SAMR) into the Network Model Management System (NMMS). The naming convention for the SAMR should be “TSPNAME Rating Methodology xx/xx/2010.”  

ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONTSPs are also required to provide future updates to their methodology documents if those methodologies change. The process for updating the documents will be the same as the initial posting. The updated document should be attached to a SAMR and submitted to ERCOT. ERCOT will post the updated documents within seven days of receipt. Updates to the rating methodology documents are necessary only if the document changes or if ERCOT requests more detailed information.

3.10       Network Operations Modeling and Telemetry

(3)       TSPs and Resource Entities shall provide ERCOT with equipment ratings and update the ratings as required by ERCOT. ERCOT shall post all equipment ratings on the Market Information System (MIS) Secure Area no later than the day prior to the ratings becoming effective including the identity of the Transmission Element, old rating and new rating, effective date, and a text reason supplied by the appropriate TSPs and Resource Entities for the rating change. ERCOT may request TSPs and Resource Entities to provide detailed information on the methodology, including data for determination of each requested rating. ERCOT may review and comment on the methodology. ERCOT shall post all methodologies on the MIS Secure Area within seven days following a change in methodology.
