NOTICE DATE: April 27, 2011 NOTICE TYPE: M-B042711-01 Education/Training SHORT DESCRIPTION: ERCOT will host a Network Model Management course and a Network Modeling/Outage Scheduling workshop INTENDED AUDIENCE: Transmission Service Providers DAYS AFFECTED: June 1 and 2, 2011 LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT will host two days of activities designed to help Transmission Service Providers in understanding the fundamentals behind the ERCOT Network Model Management System (NMMS) and the coordination of network modeling and outage scheduling activities required for maintenance of the ERCOT network model at the level required to support its use in system and market operations. ERCOT will offer a one-day course on ERCOT's Network Modeling Management System on June 1, 2011. The course will present the ERCOT network model and its uses while highlighting the roles and responsibilities of market participants and ERCOT in the maintenance of the model through the Network Operations Model Change Request (NOMCR) system and other associated processes. ERCOT will also host a workshop on June 2, 2011, on the coordination of network modeling and outage scheduling activities that must be followed when outages and model updates must be coordinated during the process of energizing or removing transmission equipment from service. The workshop will walk attendees through various scenarios to explain the timelines required in coordinating the submission of Network Model updates and outage schedules with scheduled Network Model updates. Attendees that are new to the ERCOT NMMS are encouraged to attend the Network Model Management course before coming to the workshop.
