SHORT DESCRIPTION: 2011 ERCOT Black Start Training

INTENDED AUDIENCE: TDSPs, Black Start and Next Start QSEs and Resources

DAYS AFFECTED: Registration available May 2 – 27, 2011

LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT will host the 2011 ERCOT Black Start Training in Taylor, TX beginning July 26,2011.

There will be 6 training sessions scheduled, and each session will be one and a half days. The first day will start at 13:00 and end at 17:00 covering Black Start theory and the responsibilities of each entity involved in the restoration process. The second day will start at 07:00 and last until 17:00 and will focus on simulating the restoration of the ERCOT System.

There is also a dry run rehearsal session scheduled for June 28 and 29, 2011, to be attended by presenters, managers and designated required representatives exclusively. Attendees of the rehearsal session are required to register in advance by completing the registration form.

For completion of the day and a half training session, 14 Continuing Education Hours (CEHs) will be awarded. Twelve (12) of the CEHs will count towards the ERCOT Emergency Operations/Simulation requirement.

ACTION REQUIRED: All Market Participants that plan to attend must complete the attached registration form and return to Stacy Wozny [log in to unmask] no later than May 27, 2011.

Registration for classes will begin on May 2, 2011.
