NOTICE DATE: May 11, 2011 NOTICE TYPE: M-A051111-01 Outage - Retail/Wholesale SHORT DESCRIPTION: Database failure with impacted services INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants DAY AFFECTED: May 10, 2011, 18:57 - 19:17 CDT LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT experienced a database failure from 18:57 until 19:17 CDT on May 10, 2011, that caused the SCED process to use aged data, which then impacted downstream reporting processes. As a result of this failure, several Current Day Reports (CDRs) pertaining to real-time system conditions were not posted to the Market Information System (MIS). Root cause of the failure has not yet been determined. This issue resulted in the following impacts: * Out of compliance issue impacting several of the real-time system conditions CDRs from the intervals of 18:00 - 21:00 CDT, based on the run time of the reports * ERCOT.com public displays and MIS Secure dashboards were not updated during the outage * Real-Time price corrections will be posted to the market for the associated SCED intervals impacted with aged data.
