SHORT DESCRIPTION:  DELAYED - Real-Time Market outage and Day-Ahead Market delay during database upgrade
INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED:  May 19, 2011
LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT Operations is delaying the maintenance outage detailed in Notice M-A051711-01 (see below) until further notice. As a result, all Real-Time Market, Day-Ahead Market and Reliability Unit Commitment activities will be on the usual Protocol timelines for Thursday May 19, 2011, including normal submission deadlines and execution of the Day-Ahead Market at 10:00 CDT.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  A follow-up Notice will be sent when the next target date for the database upgrade is established.

SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Real-Time Market outage and Day-Ahead Market delay during database upgrade
INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED:  May 19, 2011, 08:20 - 10:30 CDT
LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT will be completing a database upgrade between 08:20 and 10:30 CDT on May 19, 2011. The Market Management System (MMS) and Outage Scheduler (OS) submissions and applications will be unavailable for up to 1.5 hours during this database upgrade.
Note that the 1.5 hour outage is scheduled to begin at approximately 08:20 CDT; however, this start time may be delayed depending on the current system conditions. A Hotline call will be made to Market Participants to announce the start of the outage, and another Hotline call will be made at the completion of the outage.
During the outage:

*         Basepoints from SCED will not be created. Resources will be required to follow Emergency Base Points and Load Frequency Control.

*         HRUC at 09:00 CDT will not be executed.

*         Market Submissions via Market Manager, Outage Scheduler and WebServices will be offline.

*         No Real-Time energy prices will be published.

*         Current Day Reports from the OS will not be published for the intervals impacted.

*         Current Day Reports from the MMS will not be available for the intervals impacted and will be retried as applicable.

*         MIS Secure area dashboards and ERCOT.com pricing displays will be impacted during the outage.

*         Unless the outage is delayed, the Day-Ahead Market submissions deadline will be extended until 12:00 CDT to allow submissions to be completed after the outage. DAM will then execute at 12:00 CDT.

*         It is anticipated that DAM will publish late (after 13:30 CDT) and DRUC will be executed later than 14:30 CDT, following normal DAM delay procedures and communications.
ACTION REQUIRED:  QSEs with Resources will need to follow Emergency Basepoints during the outage. All QSEs need to be aware of the timeline changes in DAM, HRUC and DRUC. QSEs and TSPs will need to refrain from making submissions in MMS and OS during the outage period as the submissions will not be accepted.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  A follow-up Notice will be sent when the database upgrade is complete and all applications are available.
