SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Reminder that ERCOT will be upgrading Secured Socket Layer (SSL) server certificates to 2048-bit as they expire 

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants       

DAY AFFECTED:  June 15, 2011  

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT will be migrating MIS.ercot.com and MISAPI.ercot.com to the new 2048-bit SSL certificates on June 15, 2011. All Market Participants will need to install the new root and intermediate certificates, in accordance with Market Notices M-B102910-01 and M-B102910-02, prior to that date. Both Notices are attached.

ERCOT will install the 2048-bit certificates in the Market Operations Test Environment (MOTE) on May 12, 2011, for market testing. The MOTE environment can be accessed with the following URLs:

https://testing.ercot.com

https://testingapi.ercot.com/2007-08/Nodal/eEDS/EWS/.

ACTION REQUIRED:  All Market Participants need to install the new root and intermediate certificates by June 15, 2011.

If you have already installed the new certificates, please disregard this Notice as there is no need to install the certificates again.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Failure to install the new root and intermediate certificates by June 15, 2011, will result in unavailability of programmatic querying and submissions, including Application Programmatic Interface (API) submissions, Get Report functionality and the use of External Web Services (EWS).
