SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Initial determination of RMR status for NRG Texas Power LLC, S.R. Bertron Units 3, 4 and GT2

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  October 28, 2011

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT received Notification of Suspension of Operations (NSO) on October 4, 2011, for the following Generation Resources:

• NRG Texas Power LLC – SRB_SRB_G3
• NRG Texas Power LLC – SRB_SRB_G4
• NRG Texas Power LLC – SRB_SRBGT_2

ERCOT has completed its preliminary review and is issuing its initial determination that additional analysis must be performed in order to determine if these Resources are needed for Reliability Must-Run (RMR) Service. ERCOT will issue its final determination by December 7, 2011.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  ERCOT has posted its initial determination on the Market Information System (MIS) Secure Area on the Grid/Generation page under Reliability Must Run at https://mis.ercot.com/pps/tibco/mis/Pages/Grid+Information/Generation. An ERCOT digital certificate is required to access the MIS.
